PHILANTHROPY

OUR PHILANTHROPY: ST. JUDE

Each year Delta Omega is one of the top fundraising Tri Delta chapters in the country. In the last year, we raised over $150,000, which amounts to be nearly 1/3 of the total amount raised by all Panehellenic Chapters at LSU.

This quote from St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s founder, Danny Thomas, is one that we strive to live our lives by each day. Sincerely Yours is an event held at the Tri Delta house in which anyone from the LSU community is invited to write letters to their friends and family asking for donations for St. Jude.

TRI DELTA LOVES ST. JUDE

In 1999, Tri Delta chose St. Jude Children Research hospital as their national philanthropy. The Patient care floor is dedicated to Tri Delta in honor of their great contribution of $10 million in four years. The most recent commitment from Tri Delta is to raise 60 million dollars over the next 10 years.

The members of Delta Omega are truly passionate about their philanthropy and enjoy raising funds for this organization. Our chapter puts on various fundraisers throughout the year.

During the fall season Delta Omega hosts two events:

  • Delta Desserts – Enjoy a night at the Tri Delta house and purchase desserts and and boutique store goodies.
  • St. Jude Soiree – All alum are welcome, and members invite their family to enjoy a night of fun music, food, and an auction.

In the spring semester, Delta Omega hosts the Sincerely Yours writing campaign. The event offers live music, food, and boutiques for shopping. The event is open to the community and those who attend are asked to bring 5 addresses in order to send a St. Jude donation request.

Raising over $150,000 last year was just a start. We hope to continue increasing our efforts in years to come!
